A study of films of one or more of the historically important national cinemas in Europe. The course is taught in English.

EUS 3930 Undergraduate Seminar in European Studies
Credits: 3; can be repeated up to 9 credits. Prereq: department permission.
Intermediate rotating-topics course on various European issues.

EUS 4905 Individual Work
Credits: 1 to 3.
Reading and discussions in advanced topics of European Studies.

EUS 4930 Special Topics in European Studies
Credits: 3; Prereq: three credits of EUS-prefixed courses or instructor permission.
Advanced rotating-topics course on various European issues.

EUS 4931 Seminar in European Union Studies
Credits: 3; Prereq: three credits of EUS-prefixed courses or instructor permission.
Rotating-topics course directly related to European Union; co-developed with and funded by EU Commission's Jean Monnet program.

EUS 4935 European Studies Seminar
Credits: 3.
Various topics in European history presented in a seminar format.

EUS 4950 Overseas Study in Europe
Credits: 1 to 6; Prereq: three credits of EUS-prefixed courses or instructor permission.
Advanced course on various European issues taught during study abroad in Europe.

Hungarian Language

HNG 1130 Beginning Hungarian 1
Credits: 5.
This course and its sequence, HNG 1131, constitute the basic sequence in Hungarian.

HNG 1131 Beginning Hungarian 2
Credits: 5; Prereq: HNG 1130 (with a grade of C or better, or S) or the equivalent.
Second semester of basic sequence in Hungarian.

HNG 1180 Elementary Hungarian: Review and Progress 1
Credits: 3.
Alternative to HNG 1130. This course is for students with some experience in Hungarian. Reviews basic grammar and improves reading, writing and listening skills.

HNG 2220 Intermediate Hungarian 1
Credits: 4; Prereq: HNG 1131 or placement test.
Intermediate study of speaking, reading, writing and listening comprehension skills with new vocabulary and grammar.

HNG 2221 Intermediate Hungarian 2
Credits: 4; Prereq: HNG 2220 or by placement test.
Improves speaking, reading, writing and listening skills by building upon language principles introduced in HNG 2220.

Turkish Language

TUR 1130 Beginning Turkish 1
Credits: 5.
This course and its sequel, TUR 1131, constitute the introductory sequence in Turkish.

TUR 1131 Beginning Turkish 2
Credits: 5; Prereq: TUR 1130 with a grade of C or better.
Second semester of the introductory sequence in Turkish.

TUR 2220 Intermediate Turkish 1
Credits: 4; Prereq: TUR 1131 or placement test.
Intermediate study of speaking, reading, writing and listening comprehension skills with new vocabulary and grammar.

TUR 2221 Intermediate Turkish 2
Credits: 4; Prereq: TUR 2220 or by placement test.
Improves speaking, reading, writing and listening skills by building upon language principles introduced in TUR 2220.

TUR 2340 Turkish for Heritage Learners 1
Credits: 3; Prereq: permission of instructor.
For students with significant bilingual speaking and listening backgrounds. The main emphasis is on reading, writing and expanding the vocabulary.
