The UF School of Art and Art History's comprehensive curriculum provides excellent instruction in the areas of studio art, design, art education and art history, and museum studies (graduate students only) and also prepares students for advanced study or potential employment in art related fields as diverse as museum operations, advertising, information graphics and production, and management within the arts.

The school's size, diverse programs and degree offerings, as well as facilities result in a fully configured art school within the largest university in the Southeast. The school, with the other units of the College of Fine Arts and the Harn Museum of Art, shares the mission of serving as an educational, professional and cultural resource in the visual arts for the campus, community, state and region.

Critical-Tracking Requirements - All Specializations

Semester 1:

  • 2.0 UF GPA required
  • Complete a total of 9 hours (ART 1802C, ART 1803C) or a total of 6 hours of any ART or PGY or GRA course at the 2000 level with a grade of C or better

Semester 2:

  • 2.5 UF GPA required
  • For Ceramics: Complete 3 of 8 critical courses (ART 2305C, GRA 2111C or ART 2468C or ART 2500C, ART 2701C or ART 2757C, ART 2704C, ART 2930C or ART 2401C, ART 2931C or ART 2932C, PGY 2101) with a grade of C or better
