Disability Science

College of Public Heath and Health Professions

The disability science minor provides students with a basic scientific foundation to understand the impact of disability on physical and psychosocial health. Prerequisites for the minor include a 2.75 overall GPA and a 2.75 prerequisite GPA based on general college biology, general psychology, abnormal or developmental psychology, statistics (STA 2023) and physiology.

This minor is available to all juniors and seniors in other colleges who meet the prerequisites, as well as to rehabilitative services students in the college. It is not available to students in the pre-OT track or the health science track in the College of Public Health and Health Professions. The minor requires 15 credits of which 12 must be at 3000+ level and completed with an average grade of C.

Students interested in this minor can obtain an application and a list of appropriate course work that begins in the junior year from the dean‘s office (HPNP, Room 4104A).
