Graphic design is a professional program for careers in graphic design and related fields. The curriculum includes a series of introductory courses in design, drawing, 2D, 3D and 4D studio courses and art history.

All students must lease, purchase or otherwise obtain a computer system by the junior level. Specific system requirements are available from the school or the graphic design coordinator.

To graduate with this major, students must complete all university, college and major requirements.

Critical Tracking and Recommended Semester Plan

Semester 1:

  • 2.0 UF GPA
  • Complete a total of 9 hours (ART 1802C, ART 1803C) or a total of 6 hours of any ART or PGY or GRA course at the 2000 level with a grade of C or better

Semester 2:

  • 2.50 UF GPA
  • Complete 2 of 5 critical-tracking courses with a grade of C or better: ART 2305C, GRA 2111C, ARH 2050, GRA 2208C, ARH 2051

Semester 3:

  • 2.75 UF GPA
  • Complete 2 additional critical-tracking courses with a grade of C or better

Semester 4:

  • 3.0 UF GPA for semesters 4-5
  • Complete 1 additional course with a grade of C or better
  • Complete the CLAST exam or be exempted

Students must complete a 2-D, a 3-D and a 4-D 2000-level course as part of their 2000-level studio requirements.

To remain on track, students must complete the appropriate critical-tracking courses, which appear in bold.
