Engineering Home | History & Overview | Policies/Procedures | Degree Requirements | Programs | Organizations

The Digital Arts and Sciences (DAS) degree program crosses college boundaries between Engineering and Fine Arts. This degree is offered under the interdisciplinary engineering studies program. Students in the program take courses in music and art, and core computer classes such as Introduction to Computer Science, Discrete Structures and Program and Data Structures. DAS students are required to submit a portfolio, subject to approval, at the conclusion of the sophomore year for continuation in the major.

The graduate of this program will be well versed in issues and solutions for basic art technique, graphic art design, electronic music and sound editing, as well as modeling 3D virtual worlds. Moreover, the DAS student will be well versed in collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork with fellow students. Classes with intermediate and final projects will be oriented around a balanced-team composition with fine arts and engineering students focusing on all aspects of a multimedia production.
