The Bachelor of Health Science program in rehabilitative services prepares graduates to work in a variety of rehabilitation-related occupations where they can advance the independence, integration and full participation of individuals with disabilities and others with service needs in the work force and community.

        The rehabilitative services program is designed to prepare students to:

• Develop skills, knowledge and values that enable them to provide quality rehabilitation services.
• Empower consumers in the development of their personal and vocational resources.
• Participate as an integral member of multi-disciplinary networks providing services to con-sumers.
• Develop a commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.
• Receive a sound preparation for graduate education in rehabilitation fields.
• Become informed citizens who are supportive of full inclusion into society of individuals with dis-abilities.

        Graduates may supervise service activities, conduct intake interviews, manage community services and facilitate job re-entry and other social services activi-ties.

        The applicant must have a 3.0 overall and prerequi-site GPA based on nine semester hours in psychology, sociology and/or criminology. The applicant also is encouraged to have volunteer experience in a human service setting.

        Enrollment is based on space available in existing facilities. Admission to the professional program is considered separately from admission to UF. Students are admitted each semester.

        Application deadlines are June 1, October 1 and March 1 preceding the anticipated semester of admis-sion. All application materials must be in the office by the deadline, including the department application. The Bachelor of Health Science is awarded upon satisfac-tory completion of the course requirements.
