Health Science — Rehabilitative Services

        The Bachelor of Health Science program in rehabilitative services prepares graduates to work in a variety of rehabilitation-related occupations where they can advance the independence, integration and full participation of individuals with disabilities and others with service needs in the work force and community.

        The rehabilitative services program is designed to prepare students to:

        Opportunities have expanded for human service providers who coordinate and manage services in state and federal service agencies, rehabilitation facilities, correctional programs, youth centers, public assistance programs and programs for the aging client.

        Graduates may supervise service activities, conduct intake interviews, manage community services and facilitate job re-entry and other social services activi-ties.

        The applicant must have a 3.0 overall and prerequi-site GPA based on nine semester hours in psychology, sociology and/or criminology. The applicant also is encouraged to have volunteer experience in a human service setting.

        Enrollment is based on space available in existing facilities. Admission to the professional program is considered separately from admission to UF. Students are admitted each semester.

        Application deadlines are June 1, October 1 and March 1 preceding the anticipated semester of admis-sion. All application materials must be in the office by the deadline, including the department application. The Bachelor of Health Science is awarded upon satisfac-tory completion of the course requirements.
