Computer and Information Sciences
Description of the Major
The major in computer and information sciences in the Warrington College of Business Administration provides you with computing, quantitative and application skills to be used in a business setting. You learn a set of focused computer science skills, communication skills and critical thinking skills that enable you to become an effective problem-solver and decision maker.

Before Graduating You Must
  • Take the Business Field Test as prepared and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS). The score will be incorporated into a core business course taken your final term.
  • Satisfy the Florida statutory requirements for CLAST.
  • Complete requirements for the baccalaureate degree, as determined by faculty.
Skills You Will Acquire in the Major (SLOs)
  1. Understand the application of methods of scientific inquiry used in the social sciences, arts and humanities as applied to the business discipline.
  2. Understand each individual business discipline.
  3. Apply math and science to computer and information science problems.
  4. Design a computing system component or process, and analyze and interpret the data.
  5. Apply statistical and mathematical tools to analyze quantitative data.
  6. Apply established frameworks in information systems to solve IT-related problems.
  7. Understand the basis of technology drivers for compliance reporting.
  8. Communicate technical data and design information in speech and in writing.
