The B.A. in Asian studies is an interdisciplinary major that puts students in a position to begin a serious professional engagement with this vast, diverse and dynamic region. Asian studies majors will acquire specific linguistic, communication and critical skills, and content knowledge about at least one major sociolinguistic area in Asia.

The language requirement may be fulfilled by completing a two-year sequence of coursework in Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Japanese, Vietnamese or other Asian languages as available.
