Exercise and Sport Sciences - Exercise Physiology

The exercise physiology specialization prepares students for a career in the health professions or for graduate study in exercise science. The curriculum provides a strong basic science background and requires additional coursework in the biological aspects of exercise. All required courses must be completed prior to internship.

To remain 'on track' for this major you must meet the following critical tracking criteria. The critical tracking courses appear in bold.

Semester 1:

  • 2.0 UF GPA required for sems 1-5
  • Complete 2 of the 9 critical tracking courses with a 3.0 GPA on tracking coursework (PSY2012, (SPC2600 or AEE3030C), CHM2045, CHM2045L, CHM2046, CHM2046L, BSC2010, BSC2010L, BSC2011, BSC2011L, (MAC2311 or MAC2233), PET2320C, PET2350C, PET3351C) - excluding labs

Semester 2:

  • Complete 2 additional courses of the 9 tracking courses with a 3.0 GPA on tracking coursework - excluding labs

Semester 3:

  • Complete 2 additional courses of the 9 tracking courses with a 3.0 GPA on tracking coursework - excluding labs

Semester 4:

  • Complete all 9 critical tracking courses with a 3.0 GPA on all tracking coursework - including all associated labs

Semester 5:

  • Complete PET3351C
