Graduation requires satisfactory completion of 120 semester hours of course work for the B.S. or B.A. degree, as prescribed below, and an overall 2.00 GPA in both overall and upper-division UF GPA.

Graduation with Honors

To graduate cum laude (with honors), a student must have a UF grade point average of 3.5 or above on all courses taken at the university after earning 60 credits.

To graduate with magna cum laude or summa cum laude distinctions (high or highest honors), the grade point average required is 3.75 and 3.85, respectively. In addition, each academic unit requires completion of an approved research project or creative work. Students seeking these academic honors should consult their adviser and the dean’s office for specific requirements. Postbaccalaureate students are not eligible for honors.
