Applying via Non-Degree

Visiting students attending a private Florida school or out-of-state institution, individuals registering for special programs sponsored by UF or students wishing to expand their academic background through graded or audited coursework, or teacher certification through the UF College of Education should apply per the student categories below.

The University of Florida has established deadlines for submission of audit and standard non-degree applications. Applications submitted late will not be reviewed. The deadline is 10 business days prior to the first day of classes posted in the catalog.

Individuals registering for special programs sponsored by UF are subject to the program's deadlines and course enrollment requirements. Contact the department's program coordinator for this information.

Enrollment is subject to the availability of faculty, facilities and space (both online and in-person).

Application Process

Non-degree application review begins approximately six weeks prior to the start of the application term. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received; processing timelines vary depending on volume of applications received. Course offerings are found in the Schedule of Courses. If you need assistance determining the college that offers the course, refer to the Undergraduate Catalog or Graduate Catalog. Visiting international students must have their applications approved by the UF International Center. All applicants must make a residency declaration.

Complete the non-degree application fully and accurately based on your student category.

After Applying

Regularly monitor your Application Status Page and email inbox, junk mail, and spam folders for any status updates or requests for additional documentation. Emails from UF will come from an @ufl.edu address.

If not already assigned from a previous application, an eight-digit UFID will be generated and can be viewed on the application status page.

The application will be forwarded electronically to the UF college requested in the application. Colleges make the final decision and may require additional information. Once a decision is made, a status update will be posted on the application status page.

If approved, the status update will provide registration directions and information on creating a GatorLink account. Before registration, a student must clear all holds, which include submission of immunization records to the UF Student Health Care Center, emergency contact information and accepting the terms of registration on ONE.UF. International students will be prompted to furnish proof of health insurance. Registration start times will be visible in ONE.UF after all holds have been cleared.

Pay course fees online at ONE.UF by 3:30 p.m. on the fee payment deadline unless directed otherwise by the program coordinator.
